Box Score GARDNER-WEBB, N.C. – Thanks to a 3-0 win over Gardner-Webb on Saturday, the Wofford volleyball team went a perfect 3-0 in the AmericInn Runnin' Bolldogs Invitational. The tournament was held Sept. 1-2 at Gardner-Webb and, in addition to the Terriers, included USC Upstate, NC Central, and host Gardner-Webb. Wofford swept all three teams 3-0 and hasn't dropped a set in four straight matches, including a midweek win at Winthrop.
Wofford defeated the Runnin' Bulldogs 25-17, 25-15 and 25-18. With the win, Wofford's record improves to 5-2 and the win streak runs to five. Wofford's five game win streak is the programs first since Sept. 2-5, 2015. Gardner-Webb drops to 2-4 with the loss.

Kara Shacklette were also named to the All-Tournament team for their efforts. Cronister had 44 kills and hit .284 with six aces, 22 digs, and two blocks over the three matches. King had 109 assists and 17 digs while Shacklette hit .378 with 22 kills and four blocks in the tournament.
Wofford, who seems to be clicking on all cylinders, had a balanced attack on both offense and defense. Cronister led Wofford in kills with 12. The sophomore hit .176 on the afternoon and added nine digs on the defensive end and three service aces from the line.
Bijonae Jones followed with 11 kills and hit .217 in the match. She, too, had nine digs while adding two assists and an ace.
Kelly Bossert had a nice outing for the Terriers. The sophomore right side hit .444 with five kills with just one error on nine swings.
Colleen Reilly had five kills on 15 attempts to contribute in the middle.
Taylor Gill had 10 digs at libero and
Madeline Savage (6 digs), King (5) and
Emily Durham (4) all complemented Gill in the back row.
Wofford hit .193 in the match, including an impressive .379 in the first set. The Terriers didn't allow Gardner Webb to hit above .125 in a set and held them to a .000 percentage in the third and final set. Gardner-Webb hit .063 in the match.
Next up, the Terriers compete in the Wildcat Classic, hosted by Davidson. Wofford returns to the court Friday, Sept. 8 against Florida Gulf Coast and plays Saturday against the University of Georgia and Davidson.
