DURHAM, N.C. – The Wofford women's tennis team opened the spring season on the right foot, as the Terriers swept N.C. Central, 7-0, on Friday afternoon at the Dr. Younge Tennis Courts. Freshmen

Lauren Joch picked up their first career singles victories as Terriers, while the doubles pair of
Kay Kluska and Steryous earned their first doubles victory. Wofford moves to 1-0 overall while the Lady Eagles drop to 0-2.Â

Lilie Steryous got things started in the No. 2 position in their doubles debut, making quick work over Maru Berghaus and Ivana Dragovic with a 6-1 win. Senior

Jenna Vroman would continue their chemistry with a 6-3 win in the No. 1 position, while
Lauren Joch and
Liz Massie's No. 3 doubles match would go unfinished, leading 3-2, to push a 1-0 lead for Wofford.Â

Jenna Vroman would kick off singles play with a win in the No. 1 position, dominating with a 6-1, 6-1 win over N.C. Central's Berghaus, as
Cassidy Hicks followed in the No. 2 position with a 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) win over Frida Cnossen.Â

Lauren Joch would make her singles debut in the No. 5 position, after sitting out due to injury last season, picking up an impressive 6-0, 6-1 win against Ivana Dragovic.
Kay Kluska (No. 4) and
Lilie Steryous (No. 3) then secured the next two wins, 6-2, 6-1, and 6-4, 6-4 respectively to claim a 6-0 lead with one singles match left.Â

Alexandra Hildell (No. 6) would then seal the deal in her singles debut, earning a 7-6 (9-7), 6-2 win over Polina Sakharova to complete the 7-0 sweep over the Lady Eagles.Â

Next, the Terriers prepare to take on UNC Wilmington tomorrow on Saturday, January 19 in Wilmington, North Carolina. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m.
