CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Terriers dropped their first match of the 2019 spring season on Saturday afternoon, falling to UNC Charlotte, 6-1. Senior
Cassidy Hicks was the lone Terrier to pick up a win on Saturday, as the loss drops Wofford's record to 3-1 while the 49ers move to 1-2.

The 49ers swept the Terriers in doubles play, as the pairs of
Cassidy Hicks and
Jenna Vroman (No. 1) and
Lilie Steryous and
Kay Kluska (No. 2) both fell in their doubles, 6-3.
Lauren Joch and
Liz Massie played competitively in the No. 3 doubles, but unfortunately came up short, 6-4, to Charlotte's Pierina Imparato and Sasha Lee to give the 49ers a 1-0 lead.

Charlotte would go on to take five of the six singles matches, as sophomore
Jenna Vroman fell to Sasha Lee in the No. 1 singles. Another Charlotte win ensued in the No. 3 singles, over freshman
Lilie Steryous, followed by a win over
Kay Kluska in the No. 4 position.

Cassidy Hicks was able to pull out a big win over Tai Martin in the No. 2 singles for the Terriers, 7-6 (3), 6-4, though, the 49ers would go on to claim the 6-1 victory with singles wins in the No. 6 and No. 5 position respectively over
Liz Massie and
Lauren Joch.

Next, the Terriers prepare for their home-opener against Savannah State on Friday, February 1, at Reeves Tennis Center. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
