SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford women's tennis team dominated in their first match at Reeves Tennis Center, sweeping Savannah State, 7-0, on Friday afternoon, giving the Tigers their first loss of the season. Senior
Curran Carver saw her first action of the year, picking up her first singles win of the season, while classmate
Cassidy Hicks continues to remain undefeated (5-0) in No. 2 singles play on the year. The win moves the Terriers to 4-1 overall.

The Terriers took the early advantage, sweeping doubles play to push a 1-0 lead.
Cassidy Hicks and
Jenna Vroman made quick work of Casi Gilbert and Sansriti Ranjan in the No. 1 doubles, 6-0.

Lauren Joch and
Liz Massie followed in the No. 3 doubles, earning a 6-1 win against Ekaterina Vorobeva and Sofia Shut'ko, while
Kay Kluska and
Lilie Steryous wrapped up doubles play with a 6-3 win over Muskaan Ranjan and Christy Turner in No. 2 doubles.

Wofford continued to highlight their dominance with six straight wins in singles play.

Curran Carver would get things started for Wofford in the No. 6 singles, winning 6-1, 6-0 against Savannah State's Christy Turner. Joch would finish shortly after in the No. 5 singles, picking up a remarkable 6-0, 6-0 shutout win over Gilbert.

Jenna Vroman would go on to handle Shut'ko in No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-0, followed by Kluska with her first win in No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-2, over Vorobeva. Steryous then picked up her first win in No. 4 singles, defeating Sansriti Ranjan 6-1, 6-2.

Cassidy Hicks faced a challenge against Muskaan Ranjan in No. 2 singles after taking the first set 6-1. Down 4-1 in the second set, Hicks fought back with five straight wins to take a 6-1, 6-4 victory, concluding the match 7-0 in Wofford's favor.

Next, the Terriers will host a doubleheader, in conjunction with the men's team, against King University (11 a.m.) and Emmanual College (2:30 p.m.) on Saturday, February 9 at Reeves Tennis Center.
