Men’s Soccer Falls 2-0 To Campbell

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Wofford men's soccer team was defeated 2-0 by Campbell on Tuesday night at Snyder Field. The Camels scored one goal in the first half and added a goal in the second half on a penalty kick.
 
Wofford is now 2-6 on the season and Campbell is 7-2-1 overall. The Camels had five shots on goal to two for the Terriers, with one each by Sam Ross and Ben Nickol. Shane Berson had three saves in goal for Wofford.
 
The first shot of the game was seven minutes into play by Campbell and they had the next seven shots. The Camels got on the scoreboard at 27:32 in the first half when Thibaut Jacquel fired a shot into the top left corner after a Wofford turnover. Most of the action for the remainder of the first half was in the Wofford zone, as the Camels added four shots and had four corner kicks before the end of the half.
 
In the second half, the Camels scored on a penalty kick by Thibaut Jacquel at the 57:55 mark. With 72:42 on the clock, Ben Nickol had a shot that was saved. The Terriers kept up the pressure on the offensive end and had a shot by Adrian Roseth go wide and a shot by Sam Ross was saved. Walt Stevens had the final shot of the game with four minutes remaining.
 
Next, the Terriers travel to Georgia Southern on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. The next home game is Tuesday, October 8, at 7:00 p.m. against Longwood.
