Box Score Spartanburg, SC – The Wofford men's soccer team dropped its final home game at Snyder Field as they fell to Furman by a score of 4-1.
With only one game remaining in the regular season, Wofford has an overall record of 4-11-1 and 2-2-1 in the conference. Furman's record goes to 10-6-1 and 4-1 in conference. The Terriers were able to send 4 shots at goal, two coming in each half.
Grant Wollam made 5 saves throughout the contest.
Furman scored early in the match as Jack Shiels had a free header off of Miles Fenton's free kick. The Paladins would score a second in the 15
th minute when Connor Hubbard tucked the ball into the bottom left corner. Hubbard would score his second of the match in the 24
th minute to extend the lead to 3-0.
Furman added a fourth goal from Dylan Lane to signify the win. Wofford would prevent a shutout by scoring a late goal in the 88
th minute.
Charlie Harris whipped in a cross and
Walt Stevens got his head to it just inside the 18-yard box. The ball flew into the top right corner passed the outstretched keeper to make the score 4-1.
The Terriers will wrap up regular season action when they travel to Johnson City to take on ETSU on Saturday, November 2 at 7:00 p.m.
