SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Wofford women's tennis team hosted the 2019 Wofford Fall Invite from Friday, November 8, to Sunday, November 10, at the Reeves Tennis Center. Each Terrier picked up at least one singles and one doubles win throughout the weekend.
There were eight singles flights and four doubles flights. The Terriers won 17 singles matches and eight doubles throughout the weekend.
Doubles was highlighted by
Jenna Vroman and
Liz Massie falling just short in the Gold Draw finals against Gardner Webb's Naupari and Ristic 7-6(4). The teams of
Brittney Wilbur and
Kay Kluska as well as
Georgia Fischer and
Ansley Hardeman both went 2-1 on the weekend.
In singles, all nine terriers competed in the event.
Lilie Steryous won the SoCon draw, and
Kay Kluska and
Ansley Hardeman were to meet in the finals of their draw- in lieu of playing each other, they played matches against other teams both of them going 3-0 on the weekend.
Rebecca Rubanov and
Liz Massie both lost in the finals of their respective draws.
The field included eight schools: Presbyterian, Western Carolina, Radford, UNC Asheville, Marshall, Gardner Webb, USC Upstate and Wofford.
The Terriers have ended the fall season and will be back on the courts on Saturday, January 18, when they host USC Upstate.
