Box Score Johnson City, TN – Wofford men's soccer team dropped its final regular season game of the year, falling in overtime by a score of 2-1.
The Terriers finish their regular season with a 4-12-1 overall record, 2-3-1 in the SoCon. The Bucs finish their season 8-7-2 overall, 4-2 in conference play.
Wofford goalkeeper,
Grant Wollam, was tested early as he made his first save of the evening diving down to his left.
Adrian Roseth returned with an attempt of his own, but he couldn't drive it past the ETSU keeper. The Bucs scored the opening goal in the 23
rd minute, the goal coming from Hauk Andreas Fossen.
Brandon Oddy had two tries to level the score before the break, but both shots were unable to find the back of the net.
Wofford was awarded a penalty kick in the 60
th minute. Senior captain
Lucas Altman stepped up to the spot and delivered the game-tying goal. The Terriers kept pressing on throughout the second half but could not find the go-ahead goal and the two sides went to overtime. On the first shot in overtime, ETSU's Kieran Richards scored to give the Bucs a 2-1 win.
Wofford ends up with the 5
th seed and will take on 4
th seeded Mercer in the quarterfinals of the SoCon tournament on Friday, November 8. The game will be played at Furman, game time is 3:30 pm.
