BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - The Wofford women's lacrosse team traveled to Gardner-Webb to face the Runnin' Bulldogs, falling by a score of 15-5.
Elisabeth Ralph scored two goals while
Shannon Wulff scored one goal and dished out three assists.
Hannah Mutch was a perfect 2-for-2 on Friday, bringing her goal total to three this season.
Kelsey Thompson totaled 14 saves, picking up two ground balls in the process.
It took less than a minute for Gardner-Webb to get on the board, as Hailey Muranto found the back of the net to open up the scoring. The Runnin' Bulldogs would take a 3-0 lead before
Hannah Wurzel found Ralph for Wofford's first goal. Gardner-Webb would take over from here, scoring six unanswered to go into the break up 9-1.
Ralph would find the net again early in the second, but the Runnin' Bulldogs held serve, adding six more to take the match 15-5.
Wofford, who is now 1-2 on the young season, returns to the field on Sunday for its home opener, hosting Longwood at 1 p.m.
