SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford women's tennis team faced all they could handle on Saturday afternoon, falling to the No. 40 nationally ranked Furman Paladins at Reeves Tennis Center, 7-0. The Paladins took the doubles point and all six singles matches on the day, though, Wofford's doubles tandem of
Cassidy Hicks and
Jenna Vroman picked up their 10
th consecutive victory against Furman's No. 40
th nationally ranked doubles pair. The Terriers fall to 10-6 overall and 2-2 in the SoCon, while Furman moves to 20-1 overall and 4-0 in conference behind a 17-match win streak.

Wofford dropped matches on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts, as
Lilie Steryous and
Liz Massie fell to Madison Dillon and Katty Weymouth in No. 2 doubles to start, 6-1.

Furman's No. 3 pair of Carol Kerman and Georgia Walker then downed
Kay Kluska and
Brittney Wilbur shortly after, 6-2, to secure the 1-0 lead.

Despite the outcome from the prior two matches, senior
Cassidy Hicks and sophomore
Jenna Vroman managed to earn a decisive 6-3 win over the Paladins' nationally ranked Katarina Kozarov and Julia Adams, snapping the pair's seven-match streak for just their second loss of the season in No. 1 doubles. The win marks the 12
th doubles win of the year for Hicks and Vroman.

The Paladins then buckled down in singles play, taking first sets in five of the six singles matches before going on to complete wins in all of them.

No. 4 singles would be the first to finish, as Furman's Madison Dillon dropped sophomore
Kay Kluska in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1, to remain undefeated (11-0) in the No. 4 slot.

Freshman
Lilie Steryous fell next in straight sets to Julia Adams on the No. 3 court (6-2, 6-3), as
Brittney Wilbur dropped a hard-fought first set, 6-4, in No. 5 singles before falling in the second to Kerman to push a 3-0 Furman lead.

Vroman faced a challenge in No. 88 nationally ranked Katarina Kozarov on the No. 1 court, competing neck-and-neck through the first set before falling, 6-4. The second set would unfortunately be all Kozarov, as she took six straight games to clinch the win for the Paladins.

Hicks started strong on the No. 2 court, taking the first set over Katty Weymouth, 7-5. Up early on, 4-1, in the second set, Weymouth fought back for a 6-4 finish to force a tiebreaker set. Riding the momentum, Weymouth went on to take the third, 10-3, for the Paladins' fifth singles win of the day.

Lastly, senior
Curran Carver dropped just her second match of the year in No. 6 singles to Georgia Walker in straight sets (7-5, 6-1) to end the match in a sweep for Furman.
