SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Wofford lacrosse team finished its 2019 regular season on Saturday, falling to Furman at Gibbs Stadium by the score of 18-5.
Wofford totaled 13 shots, nine ground balls and nine draw controls.
Ally Furnari paced the Terrier offense, scoring a career-high four goals on just five shots.
Hannah Wurzel also found the back of the net, finishing off her sophomore season with 17 total goals.Â
After a few minutes of scoreless play, Furman's Grace Pollak and Abby Shields each scored a pair of goals to make it 4-0. The Paladins jumped out to a nine-goal lead before Furnari got Wofford on the board. Furman scored three more before the break, leading 12-1 at the half.Â
After Pollak opened up the second with a goal, Wurzel finished a shot unassisted to make it 13-2. With less than 17 to play, Furnari registered back-to-back goals, capping the game off with her team-leading 28th goal of the season.Â
Wofford finishes the 2019 season 4-13, going 1-4 in Southern Conference play and doubling its win total from the 2018 inaugural season.Â
