SALEM, S.C. - The Wofford men's golf team completed play at the Clemson Invitational on Sunday, finishing in a tie for ninth place overall. 

The Terriers finished 8-over-par, totaling 292 in the first round and 298 in the second before posting a final-round 282 on Sunday. 

"Really proud of our team this week," said Wofford head coach Alex Hamilton. "We were able to put together two solid rounds the first two days, and today we played a very good round."

Individually, Walker Simas had the top finish for Wofford, shooting a 5-under-par 211 for the three rounds and tie for 19th place. Simas opened up Friday by shooting even par and posted a 1-under-par 71 in round two. The junior from Charlotte, North Carolina, capped off the tournament with his best round, shooting 4-under-par on Sunday. 

Nick Willis had a solid finish for the Terriers, posting a score of 2-over-par 218 for the tournament. Willis opened up on Friday by shooting 1-over-par for round one, shooting a 3-over-par 75 on Saturday. The sophomore capped off the tournament with his strongest round on Sunday, firing a 2-under-par 70 to tie for 38th place overall. 

Freshman Walker Jones continued his solid play, tying for 50th place with a 5-over-par 221. Ryan Marter rounded out the scoring for Wofford, finishing 8-over-par for the tournament. 

"Throwing out a 73 is very impressive out there," Hamilton said. "Excited to build off of this for our last regular season event at Athens and hopefully at conference as well."

Wofford returns to action on April 15, competing in the Southern Intercollegiate hosted by Georgia on April 15.
