SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford College football program announced the signings of three additional student-athletes – Alec Holt, David Legette and Isaiah Wadsworth - to National Letters of Intent during the regular signing period that began on Wednesday. With the twelve signed in the December early signing period, the Terriers have fifteen total newcomers in the class.
Alec Holt (5-11, 175, Lexington, S.C.) played his senior season at Gilbert High School, starting at both wide receiver and defensive back. He had 40 catches for 923 yards and 20 touchdowns, while adding two rushing touchdowns, a kickoff returned for a touchdown and a passing touchdown. He earned Region Athlete of the Year, All-Region, All-Area, and All-State honors. As a junior at Clay High School in Florida, was named All-County first team and All-Academic Team.
David Legette (5-10, 170, Myrtle Beach, S.C.) was a two-year starter at running back for Carolina Forest High School. As a senior he had 195 carries for 1,612 yards and 29 touchdowns to earn All-Region honors. During his junior season had 202 carries for 1,436 yards and 14 touchdowns, adding All-Region honors. He also lettered in track and holds the school record in the 100 meters.
Isaiah Wadsworth (5-11, 175, Hampton, Ga.) was a four-year starter at defensive back and wide receiver at St. Francis High School. As a senior he had 80 tackles and eleven pass break-ups, along with an interception and five forced fumbles. On offense he had 54 catches for 1,023 yards and nine total touchdowns. He was named All-Region, All-District and All-State. During his junior season he had four interceptions and 63 tackles on defense, along with 262 rushing yards, 30 receptions and eleven total touchdowns. Also won a state championship in the 100 meters.
The Terriers will welcome nine players on offense and six players on defense. The student-athletes are from four different states, including six each from Georgia and South Carolina.
On offense, the nine players include two offensive linemen, two running backs, two wide receivers, two tight ends and a quarterback. On defense, the six players include two linebackers, three defensive backs and one lineman.
The eligibility of all student-athletes is contingent upon admission to Wofford College and compliance with all NCAA rules, including registration with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
