Charlotte, N.C. – The Wofford women's tennis team embarked on its first journey of the 2021 campaign, taking a trip to Charlotte to face off with the 49ers. Unfortunately for the Terriers, they fell short by a 6-1 score.
Freshman
Emely Kahrs paired up with
Kay Kluska at the #2 doubles spot, but lost 6-1.
Liz Massie and
Brittney Wilbur played a closer contest falling by a 6-4 margin.
Lilie Steryous and
Jenna Vroman saw their first action at #1 position, playing the first set to 5-4, but not finishing due to the other two scores.
Vroman also played the #1 position in singles, coming up a tad short 6-4 and 7-6 (7-4). Kluska and Massie both fell in two straight sets. Steryous played two tough sets, but dropping them 7-5, 6-4. Kahrs got her first taste of singles action, but falling at the #4 spot. Wilbur won the lone point for Wofford defeating her opponent 6-4, 6-0.
