Durham, N.C. – The Wofford women's tennis team defeated North Carolina Central en route to its first victory of the season, 6-1.
"I was really proud of the way the girls competed today", said head coach
Krissy Hall. "They came out with great energy in doubles and kept that momentum going throughout the singles matches."
The duo of
Emely Kahrs and
Brittney Wilbur won the first match of the afternoon, a 6-0 doubles win at the #3 position.
Jenna Vroman and
Lilie Steryous secured the doubles point for Wofford with a 6-2 victory on court #1.
Steryous kept that momentum going into singles play, as she won her first set 6-3 before her opponent retired. Vroman followed that up with a 6-0, 6-1 sweep, and
Liz Massie won in three sets, 6-4, 0-6, 6-2. Kahrs and Wilbur capped off a great afternoon for the Terriers, both winning their singles matches.
