SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford women's tennis team played a hard-fought game against the Charleston Southern Bucs, coming away with the win after tense moments in singles play. The win marks the first time since 2002-03 the Terriers have defeated the Bucs.

Jenna Vroman and Lilie Steryous did well to knock off their opponents at the #1 doubles spot, taking home a 6-2 win. However, Charleston Southern came back with wins at the #2 and #3 positions to steal the doubles point from the Terriers.

Liz Massie started the singles scoring by bouncing back from her doubles defeat and making quick work in singles with a 6-2, 6-0 win on court 3. Vroman was able to pick up her second win of the afternoon with a sweep at #1 singles, 6-1, 6-1. The Bucs got their second point on court 4, but Steryous gave Wofford the lead right back with a 7-5, 6-1 victory. Charleston Southern tied the match 3-3, but senior Brittney Wilbur came up clutch winning back-to-back sets to edge the Terriers to a 4-3 win.

"That was a well-played match on both sides. We kept our energy high and the team fed off that throughout the match", said coach Krissy Hall. "I'm proud of how hard we competed and how we kept our composure during some tightly contested matches. All around great job from the team."
