THE SAMFORD GAME
Wofford continues Southern Conference play on Saturday as they remain at home to Gibbs Stadium to host Samford as part of Homecoming Weekend activities ... The Terriers are 1-4 on the season and 0-3 in Southern Conference play after a 24-22 road win at Elon, a 31-10 loss at home to #24 Kennesaw State, a 31-23 road loss to #22 VMI, a 27-21 loss on the road to #13 East Tennessee State and a 42-20 home loss to Furman ... Samford is 2-3 on the season and 1-2 in league play ... They have wins over Tennessee Tech and Western Carolina, along with losses to UT Martin, East Tennessee State and Mercer ... The Bulldogs had an open date on October 9 ...Samford features the SoCon Preseason Player of the Year in quarterback Liam Welch ... They are ranked fourth in the nation in scoring offense and fifth in the nation in passing offense, but 111th in total defense ... Wofford and Samford have played 18 times, with the Bulldogs holding a 13-5 lead in the series that began in 1949 ... Samford has won six straight games in the series and eight of the last ten meetings ... The Bulldogs somehow have had an open date in seven of the last nine fall meetings against the Terriers.

TERRIER TOP NOTES
Here are the top notes of interest heading into the Samford game:
    • The Terriers return 18 starters from the 2021 spring season, including six on offense, nine on defense and three specialists. Eleven other players who started games also return.
    • Wofford is ranked 92nd in the nation in total offense and 94th in total defense through the first five games.
    • The rushing offense was ranked fifth overall at 232.8  yards per game in the spring. Wofford has been ranked in the top ten in rushing offense for 22 straight seasons but are 30th so far in 2021 at 178.5 yards per game.
    • The Terriers are being outscored in all four quarters and in the second half, the Terriers are being outscored 78 to 32.
    • In the SoCon Preseason poll, the Terriers were selected to finish eighth, the lowest since 1999.
    • Four players were recognized by the coaches on Preseason All-SoCon team. First team honors went to DL Micheal Mason and OL Zak Kurz. OL Al Hogan and RB Nathan Walker picked up second team honors.

At quarterback, Peyton Derrick has started four games and Jimmy Weirick has one start ... Weirick is 21-of-38 passing for 234 yards along with two rushing touchdowns, while Derrick is 31-of-60 with two passing touchdowns and 123 rushing yards ... Irvin Mulligan is the leading rusher with 437 yards on 63 carries and five touchdowns ... Jamari Broussard has 143 rushing yards on 30 carries with a touchdown, with Nathan Walker and Ryan Ingram adding rushing touchdowns ... The top receiver is R.J. Khayo with 14 catches for 166 yards ... Jim Welsh has added ten receptions for 84 yards and Alec Holt has nine catches for 152 yards and a touchdown ... The offensive line has seen eight players start, with center Anthony Garcia the only one to play the same position all five games ... They rank 13th in the nation in fewest sacks allowed with four ... Linebackers Joe Beckett (39) and John Beckley (24) are the top tacklers ... Micheal Mason has three tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks, while Chuck Smith has added two sacks ... Isaiah Wadsworth and Amir Annoor have the two interceptions for the team ... Walker Gliarmis handles the placekicking duties and is 5-of-6 on field goals with a long of 48 yards ... Atkins Roberts has kicked off 22 times for a 58.1 average and has a 38.1 average on his 23 punts.

HOMECOMING NOTES
When the Terriers host Samford on Saturday afternoon, it will mark the 75th Homecoming game at Wofford ... The Terriers are 48-24-2 all-time in Homecoming games.

COACH JOSH CONKLIN SHOW
Wofford Sports Properties, the multimedia rights partner for Wofford College Athletics, has announced the return of the Coach Josh Conklin Show. The show is part of an expanded selection of coaches shows that began in the spring. The shows, sponsored by R.J. Rockers, are hosted by the voice of the Terriers, Jim Noble. The Josh Conklin Show begins in September and will debut every Monday during the football season. The first episodes of the Jimmy Garrity (women's basketball) and Jay McAuley (men's basketball) will debut in late December. Fans can listen to the "Wofford Terriers Coaches Show" podcast in a variety of ways, including on the iTunes, Amazon, Google and Spotify podcast platforms, along with www.woffordterriers.com/podcast. GOAL LINE CLUB
Help carry the ball for the Terriers and sign up to be a 2021 Goal Line Club member. Pledge as little as $1 to contribute to an athletic endowed scholarship. Established in 2012, the Goal Line Club has proven hugely successful in helping raise scholarship dollars for the Wofford College Athletics Endowment. Goal Line Club members have donated a combined total of more than $368,538 for the Goal Line Club Endowed Scholarship Fund since the inception of this initiative. PARKING
There are no significant changes for parking from the 2019 fall season. A parking map can be found HERE.
General public parking: $10 per game on game day.
Overnight parking of RV's is not allowed on campus. Limited game day RV parking is available for $50.
