WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wofford's men's tennis team played their second official match Saturday night, falling against #14 Wake Forest, 7-0.
It was a slow start for Wofford as the doubles matches ended quicker than they hoped. The pairing of
Javi Casasolas and
Diego Losada played the closest match, eventually losing 6-3. The Terriers lost on court #1, 6-1 and on court #3, 6-2.
Brighter spots were seen along the singles matches as
Ashe Ray fought his way back in his second set, but dropping 6-1, 6-4.
Will Fullett had another good outing as he showed good signs of fight with a 6-4, 7-5 loss.
Alex Horn also competed hard with a 7-6 (9-7), 6-4 defeat.
"Wake Forest was fantastic. No question we will improve from today's match", said coach
Rod Ray. "I'm super proud of the guys for attacking this opportunity."
