SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford men's soccer team fell in another one-goal game Saturday afternoon to the Belmont Bruins, 1-0. All four of Wofford's losses this season have come by one goal.
The Terriers were controlling possession for the first 10 minutes of the match, but Belmont found an opportunity in the 12
th minute as a cross found its way to the back post and it was tapped into the net. The game became a little chippy after that as both teams went in and were called for hard fouls.
Brandon Oddy had an attempt from 40 yards out trying to catch the keeper off his line, but it took one hop into the goalie's arms as the score remained 1-0 at halftime.
The second half stayed just as physical as the first, but Wofford went more attacking and had some chances.
Adrian Roseth took aim in the 55
th minute, but it flew out of play, and
Thaddeus Dennis also had his shot go high and wide. Oddy had a couple of chances off of corner kicks as both of his headers went over the crossbar. As time winded down,
Buster Sjoberg had one final go at goal, but the keeper came across to his left to make the save.
