GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Wofford men's tennis team earned themselves a 4-3 victory over UNCG which puts them back over .500% with a 6-5 record, now 2-2 in the SoCon.
Omar Williams and
Bryce Keim won their seventh match as a team together at the #1 position, defeating their opponents 6-4 to open doubles play.
Javi Casasolas and
Callum Rendle followed that up with a 6-2 victory to give Wofford the doubles point. The duo of
Will Fullett and
Ashe Ray fought hard, but fell in a tiebreaker 7-6 (7-3).
The Terriers began singles play as
Diego Losada jumped out to a big lead and never looked back, winning 6-1, 6-2. Williams bounced back after his previous singles loss and went on to win 7-5, 6-3 to put Wofford up 3-0 in the match. After a UNCG win, Fullett won in three sets to give Wofford the match, 2-6, 7-5, 6-0. Keim and Ray finished their matches out, but it was no matter as the Terriers already secured the win.
