DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Wofford men's soccer team scored the opening goal of the contest, and took the lead once more in the second half, but the Wildcats rallied with 30 minutes to go and gave the Terriers their third loss of the season.
Wofford and Davidson were feeling each other out for the first few minutes until Eduardo Velasco had an attempt that sailed over the crossbar. About 10 minutes later, Wofford was awarded a penalty and
Adrian Roseth made no mistake and gave the Terriers a 1-0 lead. Velasco quickly tried to make it 2-0, but his shot ended up being saved.
Emil Larsen came up with two big saves in the first half to allow Wofford to go into halftime up 1-0.
Davidson came out with much higher energy to start the second period of play as five minutes in they tied the game. The draw did not last long however, with
Brandon Oddy picking up a loose ball and drilling it towards the net. It took a slight deflection and went off the Wildcats' goalie to give the Terriers their lead back again. Just moments later, it was Davidson that was given a penalty, but Larsen came up huge stopping the penalty kick and the following rebound. The Wildcats kept pressing as they knotted the score in the 65
th minute. A halt in all the action only saw Wofford go down 3-2 with just under 20 minutes to go. The Terriers went for the equalizer, but nothing came about as they fell 3-2.
Emil Larsen finished with eight saves while Wofford lead the corner kick count, 4-2.
Brandon Oddy scored his second of the season while
Adrian Roseth netted his first.
