SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Senior middle blocker
Riley Coonan was named to the Southern Conference All-Tournament Team, as announced by the league office at the conclusion of Saturday's 2020-21 SoCon Volleyball Championships in Birmingham, Ala.
A First Team All-SoCon honoree, Coonan was stellar for Wofford in her final match in old gold and black, hitting .321 for the match with 10 kills while recording a season-best eight blocks (seven solo) and two digs. The Jacksonville, Florida native finishes the 2020-21 campaign as the team's points leader (226.5), while also leading the team with 181 kills and 2.78 per set.
Coonan finished third in the conference with a .313 hitting percentage.Highlighted by two season-high 17-kill performances, Coonan reached double-digit kill totals in 12 matches, collecting SoCon Offensive Player of the Week honors on Feb. 23. Additionally, Coonan finished second on the squad with 61.0 blocks on the season, averaging 0.94 per set, as she has reached five of more blocks on six occasions this season.
Wofford concludes the 2020-21 season with a 10-7 overall record and 10-6 Southern Conference record. The Terriers matched its best Southern Conference finish since 2017, tying the most conference wins in program history (10).
