SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford men's tennis team hosted Kennesaw State on Friday afternoon at the Reeves Tennis Center to open the spring season. The Owls won the doubles point and took five singles matches for the 6-1 final margin.
In doubles, the Terriers led all three matches 6-5 before all three ended up going to a tiebreaker. The Owls took the first game at the #2 position, but
Callum Rendle and
Bryce Keim tied things up by taking the #1 position 7-6 (7-5). At the #3 position, the Owls won the tiebreak to earn the doubles point.
The Owls won the first four single matches at the #1, #2, #4 and #5 positions to clinch the win.
Bryce Keim was defeated in a close 7-6, 6-2 match at the #6 position.
Callum Rendle was tied at 6-3, 3-6 at the #3 position and won the match 10-7 in the tiebreaker to end the day.
Wofford will travel to Georgia State on January 23 for their next match.
