NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Wofford women's tennis team was defeated 6-1 by Charleston Southern University on Thursday afternoon at the Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center. The Bucs won the doubles point and five of the six singles matches.
 
In doubles, Charleston Southern (1-0) won all three matches with the closest result at the #2 position with a 6-4 decision over Lilie Steryous and Brianna Wilbur.
 
During singles play, freshman Lily Woods earned a 7-5, 6-4 win at the #1 position. Lilie Steryous was defeated in three sets at the #2 singles spot, while the other four singles matches were decided in straight sets.
 
Wofford (0-2) will travel to Coastal Carolina on January 30 to play a match that was previously scheduled for January 23 but postponed due to weather.
