FAIRBURN, Ga. – The Wofford College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Alexander/Asics Invitational at Bouckaert Farms on Saturday morning. The women finished second overall, while the men were seventh.
In the men's 8K race to begin the day,
Carson Archie was 15
th overall with a time of 25:51.34. Demit Degirmenci was next for the Terriers at 27:18.4, followed by
James Moon (27:44.17),
Patrick Daly (28:28.80),
Emmett O'Neill (28:29.08), and
John Bolinger (28:47.14).
In the women's 5K race,
Mary Claire Ridgeway was third overall in 18:00.17 and
Alexus Atkins was fourth in 18:07.48.
Camille Terracina (18:59.29),
Ava Fowler (19:03.74),
Carolyne Shealy (19:07.59) rounded out the top five scorers.
Chloe Gilbert (19:24.05),
Franny Tocco (20:05.98) and
Kimber Keene (20:28.56) also finished for the Terriers.
Overall, Georgia Tech was first in the women's race with 23 points, followed by Wofford (50), Carson-Newman (85), Emory (110) and Oxford College (163) to round out the top five of twelve teams competing. In the men's race, Georgia Tech was first (18), with Emory (55), Carson-Newman (101), Piedmont (136) and West Alabama (146) completing the top five of 13 teams.
Both the men's and women's teams will be back in action on Saturday, October 15, at the Upstate Invitational.
