Men’s Soccer Shuts Out Furman For Rivalry Win

GREENVILLE S.C. – The Wofford men's soccer team blanked the Furman Paladins 2-0 on the road for the team's first Southern Conference win of the season. The Terriers' record improves to 4-6-2 (1-1-1 SoCon)

Wofford was able to apply the pressure early, with Jackson Wrobel sending a shot on goal at the 15-minute mark, but the shot was saved by the Furman keeper.

After several shots from the Terriers failed to find the back of the net, Wofford broke through at the 37:05 mark after Wrobel's corner kick found Thaddeus Dennis and eventually Hugo Moldin, who sent the ball past the Furman defense for the first goal of the game.

The Terriers struck again in the 42nd minute, with Dennis netting the goal off a pass from Jakob Anderson, giving Wofford a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Wofford out-shot the Paladins 9-5 and 5-1 in shots on goal in the opening half.

The Terrier defense held strong the rest of the match, with Cameron Victor recording five saves in the second half, including two huge saves in the closing seconds of the match, sealing the win for Wofford.
