SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford women's tennis team swept North Greenville by a 7-0 score on Tuesday afternoon at Reeves Tennis Center. After winning all three doubles matches, the Terriers won all six singles matches in straight sets for the victory.
In doubles,
Breda Brennan and
Brianna Wilbur took a 6-0 match at the #2 position.
Emma Sorensen and
Ansley Hardeman clinched the point with a 6-1 win at the #3 doubles spot.
Lily Woods and
Georgia Fischer added a 6-2 in at #1 doubles to sweep the point.
Liz Massie picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win at #2 singles and
Brianna Wilbur added a 6-0, 6-1 win at #3 singles for the Terriers. A 6-0, 6-1 win by
Emely Kahrs at #4 singles clinched the match for Wofford. Freshman
Emma Sorensen played her first career singles match and earned a 7-5, 6-1 victory at the #5 position.
Lilie Steryous played at #1 singles and came away with a 6-1, 7-5 win.
Ansley Hardeman closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at the #6 singles spot.
Wofford (3-2) will be back at home on Saturday, February 19, as they host Presbyterian College at 10:30 a.m., which is a time change from the original schedule.
