WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Wofford College men's tennis team was defeated 6-1 by UNC Wilmington on Saturday at the UNCW Courts. The Seahawks took the doubles point and five of the six singles matches for the victory.
 
In doubles, the Seahawks won at the #2 and #3 position to claim the point as the #1 position was unfinished at a 4-4 tie.  
 
Singles matches began with the Seahawks winning at #4, #6 and #2 to clinch the match. Freshman Mark Endler then picked up a 6-3, 6-4 win at #3 singles for the Terriers. After UNCW added a win at #5 singles, the #1 singles match remained with Ashe Ray falling in a close 7-6 (7-4), 7-5 match to Bekhzod Rasamatov, who was the CAA Rookie of the Year last season.
 
The Seahawks (1-2) won the CAA Championship last spring to earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Wofford (0-6) will visit the #21 ranked University of North Carolina for a match on Wednesday, February 5, at 2:00 p.m. to wrap up a six-match road swing.
