JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Wofford College men's tennis team opened Southern Conference play on Friday afternoon with a 7-0 loss to East Tennessee State University at the Dave Mullins Tennis Complex. The Bucs earned the doubles point and then swept the singles matches.
In doubles play, the Bucs won at #1 and #3 to clinch the point and added a win at #2 as well.
The Bucs started singles play with straight set wins at the #1 and #3 positions. At #4 singles,
Alex Horn took the first set to a tiebreaker but lost the second set which secured the match for the Bucs. The Bucs had a win at #2 and #5 singles as well in straight sets.
Will Fullett, playing at #6 singles, lost the first set 6-2 and responded with a 6-1 win in the second set before falling 6-3 in the third set.
Wofford (4-8, 0-1) will host Elon on Sunday, March 6 at 1:00 p.m. ETSU is 7-4 on the season and 2-0 in league play.
