BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – On Sunday afternoon, the Wofford College men's tennis team was defeated 5-2 by Samford. The Bulldogs won the doubles point and proceeded to take four of the six singles matches for the SoCon victory at the Samford Tennis Center.
In doubles, the Bulldogs claimed the point with wins at the #1 and #3 positions.
Mark Endler and
Will Fullett took the #2 position by a 7-6 score for the Terriers.
During singles action,
Mark Endler picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win at the #4 position.
Will Fullett added a 6-4, 7-5 win at the #6 position for Wofford. The Bulldogs had a win at #2 singles in straight sets.
Ashe Ray (#1 singles),
Robert Young (#3 singles) and
Alex Horn (#5 singles) all went to three sets against their opponents.
Wofford (8-11, 2-3) returns home on Sunday, April 10, for the final home match of the season. Prior to the match, senior
Bryce Keim will be honored. The Bulldogs are 4-12 overall and 2-3 in league play.
