SPARTANBURG S.C. –
Nikolai Rojel netted two goals as the Wofford men's soccer team earned back-to-back wins after defeating Jacksonville 3-2 at Snyder Field. The win evens Wofford's record at 2-2 to start the season.
The Terriers found themselves trailing early after Moussa Sabaly opened the scoring for the Dolphins only four minutes into the match.
Rojel put Wofford on the board with his first career goal after finding on opening past the Jacksonville defense at the 20' minute.
Three minutes later, the Terriers struck again after
Jackson Wrobel found the back of the net off a pass from
Nic Parker, giving Wofford a 2-1 lead.
After the score remained the same through halftime, Rojel headed a ball to the back of the net for his second goal of the match off passes from
Nic Parker and
Paul Jones, expanding the lead to 3-1 at the 53:20 mark.
The Dolphins cut the lead in half with 20 minutes remaining after Trey Demp snuck one past the Terrier defense.
Jacksonville was able to send in several more shots, but the Terriers were able to prevent any further damage, securing the win for Wofford.
