SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford College women's tennis team was defeated 4-0 by the University of North Florida in the home opener at Reeves Tennis Center on Friday afternoon. The Ospreys won the doubles point and clinched the match with three singles wins.
In doubles, the Ospreys took the matches at #1 and #3 by 6-0 scores to secure the point. The #2 match was unfinished with North Florida leading 3-2.
Singles play began with North Florida winning the first set in five of the six matches. The Ospreys clinched the match with wins at #1, #3 and #4 singles. When the match was clinched, the Terriers were behind in the second set at #2 and #5 singles. At #6 singles
Catherine Blouin won the first set 6-3, lost the second set 4-6 and was ahead 1-0 in the third set.
Wofford will visit UNC Asheville on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. The next home match will be Sunday, February 5, against Georgia Southern.
