ASHEVILLE, N.C. – On Sunday afternoon, the Wofford College women's tennis team was defeated 6-1 by UNC Asheville at The Asheville Racquet Club. The Bulldogs won the doubles point and added five singles wins.
During doubles action,
Lily Woods and
Georgia Fischer earned a 6-4 win at the #1 position to open play. At the #2 and #3 doubles spots, UNC Asheville picked up victories to clinch the point.
In singles play,
Brianna Wilbur earned a 6-2, 7-5 win at the #4 position for the Terriers.
Emely Kahrs took her match to three sets at the #3 position. The Bulldogs earned straight set wins in the other four singles matches.
Wofford (0-3) will have two matches on Sunday, February 5, as they host Georgia Southern (11:00 a.m.) and Converse (3:00 p.m.).
