CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Wofford College rifle team had their season opener on Saturday morning against The Citadel's co-ed team and women's team at the Inouye Marksmanship Center. The Citadel was first with 4,566 points, followed by Wofford at 4,389 points in second and The Citadel women had 4,365 points.
Wofford was led by
Ansely-Brooke Springer with a career-best 1,141 aggregate score to take third place overall. She was second in small bore at 569 and fifth in air rifle at 572, both of which were career-highs.
Garett Dall was fifth overall with a career-best 1,126 points, which included a 575 in air rifle for fourth in that event.
Charlie Yang had a career-best 1,069 and
Jessy Delgado fired a 1,044.
Chanson Bullard had a 541 in air rifle only.
James Hart IV of The Citadel was first overall and first in both smallbore and air rifle with a 1,170 aggregate.
The Terriers will return home on Sunday, October 8, to host North Georgia.
