Jackson Sivills Career Night Pushes Terriers Past Gardner-Webb

Boiling Springs, NC- Junior Jackson Sivills scored a career high 19 points in the second half to propel the Wofford men's basketball team past the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs 81-66.

Both teams traded double digit runs in the first half with the Terriers jumping out in front early courtesy of a 13-0 run to lead 20-8 at the 11:37 mark. Gardner-Webb responded by closing the half on an 11-0 run over the last 2:12 of the half to take a 29-26 lead into the intermission.

Out of the break both teams traded haymakers culminating in a Gardner-Webb four-point play to retake a three-point lead at 36-33, but that would be the last time GWU would lead. Led by Jackson Sivills, Wofford rattled off a 22-6 run over the course of seven minutes and fifty-seven seconds to take a 55-42 lead with 9:12 remaining. During that run, Sivills scored 13 of his 19 points and connected on three of his four three-pointers- matching his career high set last season against North Carolina A&T.

Gardner-Webb threatened one last time, whittling the Wofford lead to three with 6:18 left, but the Terriers responded to GWU's run by running their lead back out to 17 with an 18-4 run to lead 76-59 with 2:07 left.

The two teams traded buckets to close the game and the final buzzer sounded with Wofford prevailing 81-66 and improving to 4-5 on the season. Wofford will conclude its eight game road swing on Saturday, December 9, when the Terriers travel to Coastal Carolina to face Chanticleers at 2 PM on ESPN+.
