SPARTANBURG, S.C. – On Tuesday afternoon, the Wofford College men's tennis team swept North Greenville University by a 7-0 score at the Reeves Tennis Center. The Terriers won all three doubles matches and proceeded to win all six singles matches in straight sets.
To start doubles,
Ashe Ray and
Robbie Young earned a 6-0 win at the #3 position.
Will Fullett and
Ian Rasheed clinched tghe doubles point for the Terriers with a 6-1 win at the #2 position. At #1 doubles,
Callum Rendle and
Max Graham took an early 3-0 lead before North Greenville made it a 3-2 match. Wofford was able to come away with a 6-4 win in the end.
Robbie Young had a 6-0, 6-1 win at the #3 position to begin singles play.
Alex Horn took the #5 singles position with a 6-2, 6-1 win and
Will Fullett was able to clinch the match for the Terriers with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at #4 singles. At #1 singles,
Ashe Ray picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win.
Callum Rendle won at #2 singles with a 6-2, 6-3 score. To wrap up the day,
Max Graham had a 6-1, 6-0 win at the #6 position.
"Today was a good day for the team," said head coach
Rod Ray. "We played great doubles and kept the momentum rolling."
Wofford (4-5) will play their next two matches on the road with trips to UNC Asheville (February 23) and to Elon (March 5).
