ASHEVILLE, N.C. – On Saturday and Sunday, the Wofford women's tennis team opened the fall season by competing at the Emily McNall Classic hosted by UNC Asheville at the Asheville Racquet Club. In addition to Wofford and UNC Asheville, Queens and Davidson also competed.
 
Overall, Wofford had 21 singles wins and seven doubles victories during the weekend.
 
On Saturday, the Terriers faced Davidson and Queens in doubles and UNC Asheville in singles. Wofford won five of the eight singles matches against the Bulldogs and then won three of the four doubles pairing against Queens, while splitting the four doubles pairings against Davidson.
 
During Sunday's matches, Wofford played UNC Asheville in doubles and Davidson and Queens in singles. Against Queens, the Terriers won seven of the eight singles matches. In the ten matches against Davidson, Wofford picked up nine wins. In the final four doubles matches, Wofford earned a pair of wins over the Bulldogs.  
 
Wofford will compete next at the Lynn Stevens Memorial Tournament hosted by Coastal Carolina on September 29 and 30.
