SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford men's soccer team dropped its first home match in three weeks to ETSU by a score of 2-0 at Snyder Field on Saturday.

The Terriers dominated possession in the first half, with a staggering 71 percent possession total. However, in the eighth minute of the match ETSU was awarded a corner, which they cashed in on to take an early 1-0 lead. The Wofford offense stepped up after the early conceded goal, firing off five shots in the next 20 minutes of action. The Terriers were gaining momentum, and the Buccaneers were on the back foot. However in the 42nd minute, the Buccaneers broke out of the Terrier siege and found a shot in the bottom left hand of the box for a goal to make it a 2-0 deficit heading into halftime.
The Terrier offense tried to answer in the second half, taking six shots. The closest being in the 60th  minute, where the Terrier attack built upon beautiful passing in the midfield to find Adam Celik in the box. His shot got past the goalkeeper but just barely whizzed over the crossbar. The ETSU defense was able to buckle down and barely fight off the Wofford attack.
Wofford (4-3-2, 0-1-0) outshot ETSU (3-5-3, 2-0-0) 12 to six. ETSU gave up six corner kicks to Wofford's two. Each team received nine fouls each as well as one yellow card to the Buccaneers to the Terriers' two.

The Terriers will be back at home on Tuesday, October 15, for a matchup with Longwood for a 7 pm kickoff at Snyder Field.
