SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford College women's tennis team hosted the Big Southern Shootout on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Reeves Tennis Center. The tournament featured Chattanooga, Campbell, Gardner-Webb, Longwood, Radford, Western Carolina, and Wofford.
During the event, one point was awarded for each match played. Overall, the Southern Conference teams of Chattanooga, Western Carolina, and Wofford were joined by Campbell to score a total of 57 points. The Big South schools of Gardner-Webb, Longwood, and Radford had a combined 28 points.
Overall, the Terriers won 14 of the 15 singles matches they played and added five doubles victories during the weekend.
"This was such a great event," said head coach
Krissy Hall. "It was really fun to play with the other SoCon schools. We are continuing to grow as a team with each fall tournament. We had great energy and competed really well. I am excited to get back on the practice courts for a few weeks to prepare for our final fall tournament."
Wofford will remain at home and host the Wofford Invite from November 1-3 to close out the fall tournament season.
