SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford College women's tennis team earned a 7-0 win against North Greenville on Thursday afternoon at the Reeves Tennis Center. The Terriers won the doubles point and then swept all six singles matches in the victory as they went undefeated in the month of February.
The #3 doubles team of
Chloe Elliott and
Emma Sorensen started the match with a 6-0 win. A 6-1 win by the #1 pairing of
Breda Brennan and
Brianna Wilbur clinched the doubles point for the Terriers.
Catherine Blouin and
Emely Kahrs added a 6-2 win at the #2 position.
Emely Kahrs led off the singles matches with a 6-0, 6-1 win at the #4 position. After
Breda Brennan took the #1 position 6-0, 6-1, a win by
Brianna Wilbur at the #2 position by a 6-2, 6-1 score secured the match win for the Terriers.
Grace Agster picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win at the #5 position. At #3 singles,
Lily Woods won the first set 6-1 and was down 3-4 in the second set before winning three-straight games for a 6-4 win. In the final match,
Emma Sorensen earned a 6-0, 6-1 win to complete the sweep.
The Terriers, who have now won eight straight matches (8-2) will visit Lipscomb on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. CT match. North Greenville falls to 0-6 on the season.
