SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford College women's tennis team won 7-0 over Converse on Friday afternoon at the Reeves Tennis Center. The Terriers won the doubles point and then swept all six singles matches for the win.
In doubles,
Breda Brennan and
Emma Sorensen took a 6-0 win at the # 3 position. At #2 doubles,
Emely Kahrs and
Brianna Wilbur added a 6-2 win to earn the doubles point for the Terriers.
Grace Agster and
Lily Woods battled for a 6-4 win at #1 to sweep the doubles matches.
During the singles matches,
Catherine Blouin started the match with a 6-0, 6-2 win at #5 singles.
Brianna Wilbur added a 6-1, 6-2 win at the #2 position and
Lily Woods had a 6-0, 6-2 win at the #3 position that clinched the match for the Terriers.
Emely Kahrs won at the #4 position with a 6-2, 6-3 match and
Breda Brennan had a 6-1, 7-5 win at the #1 position. In the final match,
Grace Stout had a 7-5, 6-1 win at the #6 position to close out the day.
"It was so great playing at home today after being on the road for our last four matches," said head coach
Krissy Hall. "I thought we had great energy and executed our game plans well! We are excited to be back at home tomorrow morning."
Wofford (3-2) will remain at home on Saturday when they host Emmanuel at 11:00 a.m.
