SPARTANBURG, S.C. – On Tuesday afternoon, the Wofford College women's tennis team won the doubles point over Gardner-Webb before rain ended the match early in singles play. The Terriers won two of the doubles matches, with the third unfinished at the Reeves Tennis Center.
After a delay of over three hours due to morning rain, doubles action began. The #3 pairing of
Catherine Blouin and
Emely Kahrs earned a 6-0 win. A 6-1 win by
Grace Agster and
Breda Brennan at the #2 position clinched the doubles point. The #1 doubles match was unfinished, with the Wofford team of
Brianna Wilbur and
Lily Woods leading 5-4.
In singles, five of the matches completed the first game before heavy rain began to fall. The match at that point was ended with no decision.
The Terriers will return to Southern Conference action when they host Mercer on Friday, March 29 at 3:00 p.m.
