ASHEVILLE, N.C. – On Saturday and Sunday, the Wofford women's tennis team opened the fall season by competing at the Emily McNall Classic hosted by UNC Asheville at the Asheville Racquet Club. In addition to Wofford and UNC Asheville, Presbyterian College and North Florida also competed.
 
Overall, Wofford had nine singles wins and six doubles victories during the weekend. Lily Woods, Chloe Elliott, Catherine Blouin, and Molly Tuttle each had a pair of singles wins to lead the Terriers.
 
"This was a great first tournament," said head coach Krissy Hall. "We worked on things, had some success, and learned a lot. We are excited to get back to practice this week before our next tournament."
 
On Saturday, the Terriers faced UNC Asheville and Presbyterian in doubles and North Florida in singles. Wofford won two of the seven singles matches against the Ospreys, while posting a 3-4 record in the seven doubles matches.
 
During Sunday's matches, Wofford played North Florida and UNC Asheville in doubles and posted a 3-3 overall mark. The Terriers faced UNC Asheville and Presbyterian College in singles and went a combined 7-6 in the matches.
 
Wofford will compete next at the Charleston Southern Invitational on September 27 and 28.
