SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford College rifle team hosted Georgia Southern on Saturday at the Joe E. Taylor Center rifle range. The Eagles, the defending Southern Conference champions, came away with a 4,726 to 4,567 win over the Terriers.
Wofford was led by freshman
Samuel Nickless, who placed fifth overall with an aggregate score of 1,147.
Oliver Guthrie had a 1,146 aggregate, while freshman
Henry Sparra (1,138),
Garett Dall (1,136),
Maeghan Springer (1,079) and freshman
Anna Mottern (1,025) also competed.
Hank Thomas had a 413 in air rifle only. Dall, Guthrie, and Springer posted career-best aggregate scores in the match.
Overall, Georgia Southern's Emme Walrath was first in small bore (593), air rifle (594) and aggregate (1,187).
The Terriers will be back in action on Sunday, October 26, when they travel to VMI.
