DeLAND, Fla. – On Saturday afternoon, the Wofford College men's tennis team was defeated 7-0 by Stetson University at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center. The Hatters won the doubles point and then claimed all six singles matches.
In doubles, the Hatters won the #3 position by a 6-1 margin and added a 6-3 win at the #2 position to take the point. The #1 doubles match was tied at 2-2 before it was unfinished with Stetson leading 5-2.
During the singles matches, the Hatters earned straight-set wins at the #2, #3, #5, #1, and #4 positions to clinch the overall match. At #6 singles,
Max Graham won the first set 7-5 and dropped the second set 6-2. In the third set tiebreaker, the Hatters won 10-5 to complete the sweep.
Wofford (1-3) will play their next seven matches at home, beginning on Saturday, February 8, at the Reeves Tennis Center. The Hatters are now 3-1 on the season.
