GREENSBORO, Ga. – The Wofford men's golf team played three rounds in as many days in the Linger Longer Invitational, finishing 14
th with a score of 901 at the Landing Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee.
Ben Jordan paced the Terriers with a 223 score.
The Terriers were 14
th in the event with a score of 901 at 37-over par. Wofford opened with a 292 in round one before following with a 313 in round two. A bounce-back 296 on day three closed out the event for Wofford. The Terriers had the 10
th-most pars in the field with 157.
No. 37 Georgia won the event with a 30-under score of 834, two strokes ahead of 18
th-ranked Alabama. The 16-team field was challenging as it featured five top-50 teams.
Ben Jordan was the top finisher for Wofford in a tie for 51
st. He posted a score of 223. Jordan opened with rounds of 74 and 80, but he finished strong on day three with a 69 to jump 14 spots on the leaderboard. He tied for the fourth best par-3 average in the field at 2.92.
Major Lenning was a stroke behind with a 224 score, tying for 55
th. His 80 in round two was sandwiched by a pair of 72s.
South Florida's Subham Jaglan recorded a 12-under 204 to earn low medalist honors in the 95-player field. He bested a pair of runners-up by three strokes.
Will Brown tied for 69
th with a 228, posting rounds of 74-78-76.
Charles Warren was tied for 71
st with his 230 score with rounds of 72-79-79.
Miller Carr rounds out the Terrier lineup in 87
th with a 236 after carding rounds of 78-76-82.
Glover Amick competed as an individual, tying for 78
th with a 233. He recorded rounds of 72-79-82.
Wofford will return to action next weekend with a trip across the country. The Terriers will play in The Goodwin, hosted by Stanford from March 27 to March 29.
