CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Wofford College men's tennis team was defeated 5-2 by Chattanooga on Saturday at the UTC Tennis Center. The Mocs won two of the three doubles matches and then took four of the six singles matches for the win.
Chattanooga started doubles with a 6-0 win at the #2 position. A 6-2 win at the #3 position clinched the doubles point for the Mocs.

Jack Deveney had a 5-4 lead at #1 doubles and were able to come away with a 7-5 win.
In singles, the Mocs won the first set in four of the six matches. Chattanooga picked up a straight set win at the #4 position.
Robbie Young earned a point for the Terriers with a 6-2, 6-2 win at the #1 position. The #5 position was won by the Mocs 3-6, 7-6 for a 3-1 overall lead in the match.
At #3 singles,
Daniel Clivio lost the first set 2-6 and responded with a 6-4 win. In the third set the Mocs won 6-2, which clinched the match.
Jack Deveney won the #2 position for the Terriers with a 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) score.
Owen Dooley lost the first set 3-6 at #6 singles and won the second set 6-4. The Mocs took the third set 6-2 to close out the match with a 5-2 victory.
Wofford (6-10, 1-4) will host Mercer on Tuesday, April 8, followed by the final home match of the season on Friday, April 11, against Furman for Senior Day. The Mocs are 12-10 overall and 3-3 in SoCon play.
