Coming off a big road win at Furman, Wofford heads to Elon on Saturday afternoon for a non-conference contest ... The Terriers are 3-3 on the season after a 41-14 win over The Citadel, a 17-13 win over Gardner-Webb, a 36-15 loss at Kent State, a 41-7 loss at Chattanooga, a 42-38 home loss to Tennessee Tech and a 32-25 win at Furman ... In the SoCon standings, Wofford is 2-2 as the only team to play four league games ... The Terriers posted a 6-6 record last year, with a 5-3 mark in the Southern Conference to finish tied for third in the standings ... In a series that began in 1921, Wofford and Elon have met 40 times with the Terriers holding a 28-12 lead ... The Phoenix won the last meeting in 2022, ending a streak of six straight wins by Wofford ... Elon was 6-6 overall last season and 4-4 in the CAA ... So far this season they are 4-2 overall, with a 2-2 mark in the CAA after a loss at New Hampshire ... The Phoenix are receiving votes in the FCS Coaches poll and the Stats Perform FCS poll.Â

Shawn Watson enters his fourth full season as head coach of the Terriers. On offense, the offensive line features returning starters
Clayton Hixon,
Reggie Houston and
Dillon Porter, with
Jaden Brinkley and
Esom Nnajiofor rounding out the group. The pro spread offense usually sees three receivers, one tight end and one running back in most formations. Four of the top five receivers from last year return in
Ivory Aikens,
Colby Alexander, Terrance Honeywood, and
Isaiah Scott. Sophomore
Jack Ewell is projected to start at tight end, while Gerald Modest returns at running back. At quarterback,
J.T. Fayard started the final seven games last season with a 6-1 record and
Ethan Drumm started two games in 2025.Â
  The defense remains a 3-4 base, with the defensive line having three new starters in Ramon McCollough,
Joseph Polite, and
Nicholas Mathious. The linebacker position will return
Javario Tinch,
Kade Moledor and
Wyatt Ward who all started games last year, along with
Logan McCloud. In the secondary, safety
Eli Campbell is joined by
Jacobi Hatter with

Wofford and Elon have met 40 times since 1921. Twelve of those meetings took place with both schools as members of the Southern Conference (2002 to 2013), with the Terriers winning ten of the twelve meetings. The teams also met once in the NCAA FCS Playoffs (2018).Â

Two players have reached milestones so far this season. Gerald Modest reached the 1,000 career rushing mark with 84 yards against Tennessee Tech.
Isaiah Scott cleared the 1,000 career receiving mark against Tennessee Tech as well.Â

Help carry the ball for the Terriers and sign up to be a 2026 Goal Line Club member. Pledge as little as $1 to contribute to an athletic endowed scholarship.
