SPARTANBURG, S.C. – On Thursday afternoon, the Wofford men's tennis team earned a 7-0 win over North Greenville University at the Reeves Tennis Center. The Terriers swept the doubles matches and then added a sweep of the six singles matches.
In doubles,
Ian Rasheed and
Jack Deveney took the #1 position by a 6-0 sweep.
Julian Brager-Carlsen and
Valdemar Dubin claimed a 6-4 win at the #2 position to clinch the doubles point. At #3 doubles,
Hugo Rask and
Owen Dooley added a 6-2 win.
Singles began with
Julian Brager-Carlsen winning 6-2, 6-2 at the #4 position.
Jack Burdell picked up a 6-1, 6-3 win at the #5 position. A 6-3, 6-1 win at the #3 position by
Parker Mariencheck clinched the overall match for the Terriers.
Jack Deveney won 6-0, 7-6 (7-3) at the #4 position and
Daniel Clivio picked up a 6-4, 7-5 win at the # 1 position.
Ian Rasheed closed out the match with a 6-3, 6-2 win to complete the sweep.
"The team is building momentum," said head coach
Rod Ray. "We've put in a lot of great work. The daily building is producing confidence and good play."
Wofford (5-2) will visit the College of Charleston on Saturday, Feb. 14. The next home match will be Tuesday, Feb. 17, against Presbyterian College.
