SPARTANBURG, S.C. – On Tuesday afternoon, the Wofford men's tennis team was defeated 4-3 by Presbyterian College at the Reeves Tennis Center. The Blue Hose won the double point, and the two teams split the six singles matches.
The doubles matches started with Presbyterian winning 6-3 at the #1 position. They clinched the point with a 6-4 win at the #2 position. The #3 position was left unfinished with
Daniel Clivio and
Ian Rasheed leading 5-4.
In singles, the Blue Hose won at the #1 and #2 positions in straight sets.
Parker Mariencheck picked up a 6-0, 7-5 win at the #3 position to get the Terriers on the board. Presbyterian had a 6-2, 6-4 win at the #5 position to secure the overall match. At the #6 position,
Hugo Rask had a 6-4, 6-4 win.
Julian Brager-Carlsen closed out the day with a 7-5, 6-2 win at the #4 position.
Wofford (5-4) will remain at home and host UNC Asheville on Sunday, Feb. 22, at 2:00 p.m.
